Born in the United Kingdom in 1978, Luis Franco Preto was raised and studied in his families’ native Portugal. There, and from the young age of 9 years old, he started learning Martial Arts by practicing Karate. Over the years he attained a 1st Dan degree in Karate, while also practicing Judo, Wrestling and American Kenpo Karate.

However, after starting Portuguese Traditional Fencing at the age of 18, he developed a higher interest in the art and eventually made it his main focus of practice for a number of years.

He also ended up investing his university years studying Sport Sciences, with the goal of trying to improve both the art and its teaching methods.

Now almost 13 years after his first contacts with the art and having laid a few seeds overseas, namely through the publishing of a book on the subject by Chivalry Bookshelf as well as directing a number of seminars in countries such as Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and USA, he decided that the right timing and circumstances have been gathered to put forward this innovative internet teaching service, and thus be able to transmit his knowledge of the art to more people and, additionally, be able to give them a more frequent and better guidance.
